    Tractor ~ 1972 ~ Tractor
    genre: psych
    country: uk
quality: lossless (ape, cue, log, scans)
    time: 1:00'53"  size: 371 mb

    Tapestry of Delights:
This progressive duo were previously known as The Way We Live and came from Rochdale.

The album, which is now sought-after by collectors, is recommended. It's a nice mix of acoustic ballads and heavier material, but it's the latter that really catches the ear. The opening cut, All Ends Up, begins with strange sound effects which give way to a heavy futuristic sound, which is undoubtedly one of the album's highlights along with the finale, Make The Journey, which again features distorted guitars and wild drums. Sandwiched in between are more complex heavy progressive cuts like Little Girl In Yellow and acoustic ballads likeThe Watcher, spoilt only by the throwaway, Ravenscroft 13 Bar Boogie.

The Repertoire reissue comes with the original artwork, an annotated booklet and a picture disc CD which contains three bonus tracks from 1973. The Sunflower release is a collection of previously unissued and rare material dating from 1971-91. Its highlight is Peterloo, a 21-minute cut in five movements, detailing the events of the 1819 massacre. The World Wide Records' CD will mainly interest archivists and Tractor fanatics due to the inclusion of a number of pre-album demos of which the Eastern-tinged Siderial, the inventive acoustic number, Madrigel, and the fuzzy Willow seem the pick.

They reformed to record 45s in the late seventies and early eighties, one under the moniker Jim Milne and Tractor.

Ton Steine Scherben ~ 1972 ~ Keine Macht für Niemand
    genre: kraut
    country: germany
quality: lossless (wv, cue, log, scans)
    time: 1:02'30"  size: 457 mb
    misc.: 2006

    Crack in the Cosmic Egg:

Mentors of the cliché "agit-rock", Ton Steine Scherben (Sound Of Stones Breaking Glass) took their roots from American 1960's punk like the Velvet Underground and The Stooges, added a touch of heavy blues and a strong dose of German angst. Presenting their raw aggressive rock frequently at free festivals in the late-1960's, none of the German labels would touch them.

WARUM GEHT ES MIR SO DRECKIG? was privately issued and contains some of the most anguished, lyrically venomous, raw rock to come out of Germany. Toning down their act a little, KEINE MACHT FÜR NIEMAND put them on a more accessible footing, less intense it also included a few excellent more experimental tracks showing that they could do much more than insult or aurally assault people, they could produce high quality rock too.

Ever trying to move further, both musically and lyrically, they kept coming on in leaps and bounds, taking both the music press and their audience by surprise. Their finest moment, as far as we are concerned, was their second double, the really ambitious WENN DIE NACHT AM TIEFSTEN, which saw them develop on an even more progressive level, with heavy rock and psychedelic touches, more Krautrock really, with diversions to Zappa-esque humour, and several experimental moments: most especially the long suite encompassing side 4.

    Tømrerclaus ~ 1978 ~ Tømrerclaus

    country: denmark
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, scans) & mp3 (320k, scans)

    Scented Gardens of Mind:
Claus Clement Pedersen, aka Tømrerclaus, decided to do something different to the usual rock guitarist routine and moved to Christiania (in Copenhagen) in 1975. This was a largely self-governed area that, since the late sixties, has been a refuge for hippies, artists and various freaks. The result was a privately recorded and released album and two cassettes, Snydt (1977) and Hepar (1978). All of them contained hilarious tracks based on demented fuzz guitar and even some on fuzz cello (the album contained the best material, though)! The only comparisons might be Oliver's album Standing Stone, a British private release, or a brain damaged, one-man-band Jimi Hendrix. All lyrics were in Danish. Great fun and completely unpretentious!

    Tomorrow ~ 1968 ~ Tomorrow
    genre: psych
    country: uk
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, booklet scans)
    time: 76:02  size: 460 mb
    misc.: 1999

    Tapestry of Delights:
Tomorrow was one of the leading psychedelic bands of the era. West, Howe and Wood had all earlier played with the In Crowd, a mid-sixties R&B group who released three singles, one of which, That's How Strong My Love Is, reached No 48 in May 1965. They changed their name to Tomorrow at the dawning of the psychedelic era in 1967. While playing with this band, West was working on the 'Teenage Opera' project with German producer Mark Wirtz. This was never actually completed, but two tracks from the projected album, Excerpt From A Teenage Opera and Sam, reached Nos 2 and 38 respectively in 1967. Meanwhile, neither of Tomorrow's singles - the fine psychedelic version of My White Bicycle and the psych-pop number Revolution broke through. Both were included on their album, composed largely of Hopkins/Burgess songs and produced by Mark Wirtz. Among the more interesting tracks on the album were The Journey Of Timothy Chase, Auntie Mary's Dress Shop, the Eastern-influenced Real Life Permanent Dream and a competent version of Lennon/McCartney's Strawberry Fields Forever. This group failed to survive the psychedelic era, but Howe went on to form Bodast and later to play with Yes. Twink, meanwhile joined Aquarian Age and then The Pretty Things. John Wood was also in Aquarian Age. He later found fortune, if not fame, working as a croupé in Mediterranean casinos. The band also appeared in 'Smashing Time', a movie which included Lynne Redgrave but don't perform any music, although they mimed to Skip Bifferty's. They once shared the stage with Jimi Hendrix at the UFO club in 1967.
