    Isopoda ~ 1981 ~ Taking Root
    genre: sympho prog
    country: belgium
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, booklet scans)
    time: 46'30" size: 379 mb
    misc.: 1999

    ProgArchives:
ISOPODA was often considered as Belgium Seventies best Progressive band. It plays a superb sophisticated and melodious Progressive rock, based upon the combinations between vovals, guitar, keyboards and flute. Working such as a goldsmith, ISOPODA composes pieces with a rare perfection, which could equal to the best GENESIS, enhanced by somptuous vocals and arrangements.
On this album issued in 1981, this Belgian band performed an elegant Progressive with elaborated arrangements. They played refined melodies with wonderful vocals, nice flute & guitar parts. The GENESIS and Alan PARSONS' references are obvious: liking for velvet and refined melodies, which thanks to their fluidity, delicate accoustic parts and beauty, seduce the auditor.

    Jericho ~ 1972 ~ Jericho
    genre: heavy
    country: israel
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, scans)
    time: 37'41" size: 231 mb
    misc.: 1990

This band was originally from Israel and they were known as the "Churchills". They moved to England in 1968 and released an album under the name of the "Churchills". They later re-named the band to "Jericho Jones" and released an excellent album in 1971 named "Junkies, Monkies and Donkies". For some reason they changed their name again, this time only dropping the "Jones" and going as "Jericho". This album was released in 1972 and received some FM airplay. It was very well received by the critics.
This was the last album the band did, as the group split up shortly after this release and returned to Israel. Even though the band no longer exists, thankfully this music still does. This is a lost gem from the progressive/hardock era that highlights the awesome musicianship from that bygone time. The playing is topnotch and the album is as well. ~ doggiedogma

    Jenghiz Khan ~ 1971 ~ Well Cut
    genre: heavy
    country: belgium
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, scans)
    time: 37'28" size: 245 mb
    misc.: 2004

    Scented Gardens of Mind:
Jenghiz Khan were short-lived but their Well Cut has long been in demand among collectors. This contained the archetypical heavy progressive rock of the times, sometimes similar to Zarathustra, Uriah Heep and May Blitz, but also with some more mellow tracks. The lead vocalist might be compared to Paul Rodgers of Free. In my view this album is a bit overrated, but check it out if you're into the genre. Pierre Raepsaet had previously played with Laurelie.

    James Gang ~ 1971 ~ Thirds
    genre: rock
    country: us
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, scans)
    time: 36'10" size: 197 mb

    Fuzz Acid & Flowers:
Jim Fox, who'd had a short stint on drums with Tom King's Starfires, formed the James Gang in 1966 with Tom Criss on bass (younger brother of Starfires' bassist Richie), Ron Silverman on guitar (replaced by Bill Jeric) and Phil Gialombardo (later of the Choir) on keyboards. After more comings and goings a suitable lead guitarist was found in Glenn Schwartz.
Joe Walsh had formed the original Measles while at Kent State University, and would have short stays with other local outfits including the Turnkeys before replacing Schwartz (who'd turn up in California with Pacific Gas And Electric). When Jeric and Gialombardo left in 1968, the band was ready to fold. During this crisis-period Walsh teamed up with Gialombardo and Jim Bonfanti (ex-Choir, later in the Raspberries) in a very short-lived group called Pie. Fate intervened in the non-appearance of a fill-in member when the James Gangwere supporting Cream at the Grande Ballroom, forcing them to perform as a trio. They went down so well that they were encouraged to stay together.
