    Uno ~ 1974 ~ Uno
    genre: prog
    country: italy
quality: lossless (ape, cue, log, booklet scans)
    time: 36'03" size: 212 mb

    ItalianProg:
Formed from the ashes of Osanna when the band split in 1974 by Elio D'Anna and Danilo Rustici along with drummer Enzo Vallicelli (from Hellza Poppin, who had played with Claudio Rocchi), Uno was a much-hyped band that went to England to record their first and only album with help from lyricist N.J.Sedwick and singer Liza Strike (of The dark side of the moon fame).
The album is not far from late Osanna style (Landscape of life-era), with four english-sung tracks and three in italian, with songs like I cani e la volpe in evidence, but didn't reach the success the band hoped.
An english sung version of the album was released abroad, with a nice surreal cover designed by Hipgnosis (again a link with Pink Floyd), but didn't attract much interest.
The three-piece band worked well in studio but couldn't get satisfying results when playing live, so the help from Danilo Rustici's brother Corrado (from Cervello) on guitar and bass was requested for live appearances. From this expanded line-up came the inspiration for a new band, called Nova.

    Ultimate Spinach ~ 1968 ~ Ultimate Spinach
    genre: psych
    country: us
quality: lossless (ape, cue, log, scans)
    time: 48'33" size: 291 mb

    Fuzz Acid & Flowers:
Originally known as Underground Cinema, this band were discovered by producer Alan Lorber, who changed their name and signed them to MGM. Part of the emerging 'Bosstown Sound' of 1968, they were the brainchild of group member Ian Bruce-Douglas, who also wrote all the material on their first two albums. Barbara Hudson's beautiful voice gave the group a distinctive vocal sound.
Their debut album was a very trippy affair. The double fold-out cover contained highly pretentious sleeve-notes by Bruce-Douglas. This pretentiousness was evident, too, in the album's lyrics. The album met with considerable commercial success peaking at No. 34 in the U.S. Album Charts.
Their follow-up album, Behold And See was in similar vein. The lyrics were less impressionable, though, and their music had become more mystical, particularly on the excellent Genesis Of Beauty Suite and Fragmentary Marches Of The Green. Other tracks like Mind Flowers, may be seen as an extension of themes from their earlier album. Once again, Barbara's vocals glisten with beauty. This reached No. 198 in the Album Charts. Both albums are classic acid rock period pieces and highly recommended, if one can excuse their more pretentious trappings.

    the Ugly's ~ 2004 ~ The Quiet Explosion
    genre: beat
    country: uk
    quality: mp3 (320k, covers)
    time: 1:10'20" size: 171 mb

    Tapestry of Delights:
Formed as The Dominettes in Birmingham in 1962 by Steve Gibbons, The Uglys recorded several singles for Pye including Ray Davies'End Of The Season. Towards the end of the sixties they issued And The Squire Blew His Horn and I See The Light, which had a psychedelic taint. They evolved into Balls in April 1969, but never got it together. Gibbons went on to make a solo album, Short Stories(Wizard SWZ 45501), before forming The Steve Gibbons Band. Pegg had earlier left to form Way Of Life and later joined Fairport Convention. Hill later played in Mongrel and O'Neill joined a flagging Mindbenders.

    Wendy & Bonnie ~ 1969 ~ Genesis
    genre: folk
    country: us
quality: lossless (ape, cue, log, covers)
    time: 50'37" size: 235 mb

    Fuzz Acid & Flowers:
A soft folk psych duo, on the label founded by the jazzmen Gary McFarland and Gabor Szabo. The two sisters, Wendy and Bonny Flower, tenderly aged 18 and 15, write and sing on all the tracks on what is a very typical period piece. Luckily the producer avoids the trap of over-orchestration and so comes up with a flowery and soothing bunch of songs, sometimes bordering on the sugary, but mostly rendering a peaceful and harmonic atmosphere. The voices of the sisters blend beautifully, the backing is unobtrusive but qualified. Naturally this drips innocence all over, but infrequently rises to the occasion and reaches real expresiveness, though often subdued, as on Five O'Clock In The Morning and Endless Pathway. Evidently, the last four tracks on Side Two are the best, which show more commitment than those on Side One and also boast sharp cutting acid-guitar on The Winter Is Cold. These four cuts are above average and should be heard by anyone with interest in female vocals in lighly psychedelic settings. The cover shot of the pair shows the very personification of naivete. ~ (Stephane Rebeschini/Marcel Koopman)

    Walter Wegmüller ~ 1972 ~ Tarot
    genre: kraut
    country: germany
quality: lossless (ape, cue, log, scans)
    size: 468 mb

the Crack in the Cosmic Egg:
Walter Wegmüller was a well-known figure in the late-1960's, as a mystic, artist, and as an eccentric and gifted all-round talent. He was one of the group of Swiss friends that included Sergius Golowin and H.R. Giger, befriended by Timothy Leary whilst he was stuck in Switzerland in the early-1970's. Reputedly, Timothy hatched the idea of a musical interpretation of Walter Wegmüller's new set of Tarot cards, and a concept centred on the trump cards was soon formulated. The band were an expanded amalgam of  Wallenstein and Ash Ra Tempel musicians.
TAROT is amongst the most remarkable projects in Krautrock, covering the whole range of cosmic music, and aptly elaborately packaged in a box with numerous cards and inserts. The first three sides cover a wide range of moods, with folky touches, strange electronic diversions and fiery space-rock drives, fronted by guitars, synthesizers and Mellotron. The fourth side is encompassed by a single suite that surges beyond Ash Ra Tempel, previewing the sound of  The Cosmic Jokers. Throughout, Walter is our guide, narrating in a most imaginative manner his visions of the Tarot, in a weirdly accented German.
As the story goes, at one of the Tarot sessions, Ash Ra Tempel's JOIN INN was also recorded, whilst the dynamic trio were waiting for the rest of the musicians to turn up! Aptly, TAROT is nowadays one of the most sought after original gems of Krautrock.
