A long lasting pop-rock group whose early albums were of some interest. Krajobrzy contained a mixture of harmony pop and beat music, comparable to Czerwone Gitary.

    Troyka ~ 1970 ~ Troykagenre: heavy
    state: canada
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, covers)
    time: 34:05 size: 200 mb

    Dreams Fantasies & Nightmares:
A progressive rock trio from Edmonton, Alberta, though local collector Tim Holden tells me no one can remember much about them now. The album was recorded at Round Sound, Edmonton, Alberta. The band took care of the arrangements, words and music themselves. Most of the tracks - Early Morning, Life's OK, Rub-A-Dub-Dub Troyka In A Tub, Dear Margaret (Malgasia) and Troyka Finale are progressive rock style instrumentals. Another Rolling Down The Back Road has a sorta guitar freakout and Go East Young Man Beautiful Pink Eyes culminates in a sorta guitar jam. Certainly not for everyone but if guitar-driven instrumentation is your scene this could be for you. Certainly an unusual album. Often compared to Gun and Warpig. ~ (Vernon Joynson/Nicki Gurr)

Robin Trower ~ 1973 ~ Twice Removed From Yesterdaygenre: blues
    state: uk
quality: lossless (ape, cue, log, covers)
    time: 78:14 size: 468 mb

    Tapestry of Delights:
Trower, who was born in Catford on 9th March 1945, had been in The Paramounts, Procol Harum and the short-lived Jude before launching his solo career in July 1971. He fronted his own band throughout the seventies and enjoyed big album sales in the United States and success well into the eighties.
His guitar style is very influenced by Hendrix but his albums have been particularly successful in the US where Bridge Of Sighs, For Earth Below and Robin Trower Live! all made the Top Ten. Briefly in the mid-seventies he was heralded as a guitar hero of almost Hendrix proportion.
Jim Dewar had previously played with Jude, and Reg Isadore with Peter Barden's On. Bill Lordan was ex-Sly and The Family Stone. ~ (Vernon Joynson/Jim McMaster)

the Troll ~ 1968 ~ Animated Musicgenre: psych
    state: us
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, covers)
    time: 37:51 size: 235 mb

    Fuzz Acid & Flowers:
The Trolls inhabited Chicago, Illinois and issued several noteworthy 45s. They kicked off with Ever Day And Every Night, forceful beat modelled loosely on Gloria, backed by a Beatlesque ballad. The follow-up was more overtly Invasion pop, with two upbeat ditties a la Herman's Hermits. They Don't Know continued in the same vein and added a slightly fuzzy guitar. There Was A Time is a frantic fuzzy popper with harmonica, Cryan' Shames harmonies and a rousing ending. Until that point all had been written or co-written by Richard Clark. Then Richard Gallagher came up with Baby, What You Ain't Got... and they let RIP with a stormin' fuzz-fest of heavy pop - awesome! The flip is harmony-pop and sounds exactly like The Critters.
They may have been having an identity crisis around late 1967 because a 45 appeared by The Carnival Of Sound - Don't Come Around / I Can't Remember (USA 892) - shortly before their early 1968 release of the identical track (according to the Mindrocker, Vol. 2 notes). In any event the Trolls' USA 45 is decent pop with Don't Come Around being the stronger cut by far, a real catchy popper with pumping Diddleyesque riff. After that they retreated to their underground lair...

    genre: beatbaroque
    state: uk
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, covers)
    time: 59:23 size: 207 mb

    allmusic:
The Troggs' second U.K. album bore the hallmarks of a rushed affair, comprised largely of substandard original material and covers, and not even including a hit to stand out from the crowd. Only one of the tracks ("Cousin Jane") was even issued in the U.S. in the 1960s, a shocking state of affairs for a British group that had recently topped the American charts, although a few would appear on later compilations (Archeology has five of the songs). Part of the problem was that the group didn't have enough good original compositions to merit an album's worth of material, necessitating the enlistment of other songwriters (including Albert Hammond for "Meet Jacqueline" and their manager, Larry Page) who largely weren't up to the task. Most of the disc is surprisingly tame, with little of the crunch or roar that motored their best classics, or (with the exception of the lovely "Cousin Jane") the left-field delicate balladry they were wont to have up their sleeve. The terrific cover of Them's "I Can Only Give You Everything" is, other than "Cousin Jane," the album's lone first-rate track, and both are available on Archeology (for that matter, both were on the excellent double-LP Sire compilation The Vintage Years). ~ Richie Unterberger

    Crack in the Cosmic Egg:
The roots of Trikolon go back to the Brian Auger inspired Blues Ltd., from Osnabrück in Northern Germany circa 1966. They are part of the history of a succession of groups fronted by keyboard maestro Hendrik Schaper.
As Trikolon they attempted to emulate their heroes The Nice, adapting classical themes and mixing them into blues and beat musics. Compared to what they would do later as Tetragon, the (self produced and financed) album CLUSTER, although musically fine, just doesn't inspire much, and tends to wander a mite lamely in parts. In fact the album's best track is the shortest. True, it showed promise, but is not the rare classic it is reputed to be. This is especially so due to the total lack of production, as it generally sounds more like a bootleg than an official album.
After this, adding a guitarist they blossomed considerably, and became the four piece Tetragon, whose album is probably 10 times better than this!

Trettioåriga Kriget ~ 1974 ~ Trettioåriga Krigetgenre: heavy prog
    state: sweden
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, covers)
    time: 64:49 size: 462 mb

    Scented Gardens of Mind:
Thirty Years War formed in the outskirts of Stockholm in 1970 and recorded their first compositions during rehearsals two years later. Their vocalist Robert Zima was in fact an Austrian singing Swedish lyrics! Their first album was an immensely powerful statement, almost a cross between Uriah Heep and King Crimson at their most furious. This war-like inferno of scorching guitars and howling vocals started with a 3-minute manic guitar overture at the beginning of "Kaledoniska Orogenesen". All six tracks had intricate, complex arrangements similar to many Italian rock bands (which had similar influences). Krigssеng (1976) was a more subtle effort focusing more on their poetical qualities, as examplified by "Jag Och Jag Och 'Jag' " with acoustic guitar and vocals. Other tracks made more use of mellotron and almost jazzy progression, really heavy, such as the mighty opus, "Krigssеng II" (17:32). This was to be their classic album, one that has stood the test of time well.
Despite artistic success, Trettioеriga Kriget were fired by their recording company and eventually formed their own Mistlur Records. Hej Pе Er (1978) showed they had lost some of their momentum, not being up to the standard of their two first albums. Mot Alla Odds (1979) was even worse, but their final album Kriget (1980) saw some improvements again. The CD compilation War Memories contains many unreleased early tracks and is recommended.

quality: lossless (ape, cue, log, covers)
    time: 43:45 size: 258 mb

    wikipediz:
The fourth studio album Hot Wire was the first Trapeze album recorded since the departure of Glenn Hughes in 1973 to join Deep Purple, and the first to feature his replacement Pete Wright, as well as second guitarist Rob Kendrick. It was the second album by the band to be produced by Neil Slaven, and features eight songs written by guitarist and vocalist Mel Galley and his brother Tom (drummer Dave Holland co-wrote one track).
Music website AllMusic awarded Hot Wire three out of five stars. The album was the second by the band to chart on the US Billboard 200, reaching number 146.

Traffic Sound ~ 1969b ~ Virgingenre: acid psych
    state: peru
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, cover)
    time: 32:16 size: 204 mb

    Dreams Fantasies & Nightmares:
A legendary Peruvian band. Their debut album sung in English includes fine cover versions of I'm So Glad (Cream), Sky Pilot (Eric Burdon and The Animals) and Fire (Jimi Hendrix), although they are little different to the originals. By the time of their follow-up, Virgin the following year, they displayed the confidence to write their own material. The title track is catchy with appealing guitar work. Tell The World I'm Alive is a pleasing soft rocker and the three part Yellow Sea Days is a mini-epic which concludes side one. On side two, there's good fuzzy guitar on Jews Caboose, a mystical interlude A Place In Time Call "You And Me", the more straightforward Simple Song, the superb Meshkalina with great guitar / keyboard interplay and distinctive Latin rhythms and an instrumental Last Song.
Their third album, housed in a mindblowing triple fold out cover and sometimes known as Tibet's Suzettes (the name of the superb opening cut a potpourri of woodwind, guitars, keyboards), represented a further progression on their second effort. This truely is an excellent progressive rock album - every track's a winner and they are all sung in English! They are full of excellent rhythms, guitar and woodwind playing. Recommended.
Members of Traffic Sound also figured along with members of Laghonia on the 1973 We All Together album.

Träd, Gräs & Stenar ~ 1969 ~ Träd, Gräs & Stenargenre: acid psych
    state: sweden
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, covers)
    time: 37:18 size: 271 mb

    Scented Gardens of Mind:
This is the last part in a story that started with Mecki Mark Men and (International) Harvester. Their new name meant Trees, Grass & Stones (symbolising their earthbound music), in case you didn't know.
Much the same way that Grateful Dead would eventually return to their country roots, these Swedes did the same, discovering the value of their ancestor's folk music and Swedish landscapes. TGS combined this with a do-it-yourself attitude, that anyone could start playing in a rock group which inspired a whole new generation of Swedish groups. Their music in itself wasn't fantastic when analysed in a scientific way. It was played from the heart: "false notes doesn't matter, it's the spirit and joy of performing that counts!". TGS took part in the planning of the Swedish version of Woodstock, the Gдrdet festivals (situated in a green area in the outskirts of Stockholm). The first of these was arranged from 12-14 June 1970 (where TGS was the opening act), and was the first public appearance of many groups from the underground movement and also giving birth to the independent label Silence. Later festivals were held from 20-23 August in 1970 and 1971. TGS's first album included cover versions of "Satisfaction" and "All Along The Watchtower" coupled with Swedish folk music and even a couple of reasonably coherent original tracks: "The Silver River Of Truth" and "The Black Pearl", musically these represented the band at their best.
The title track (rock for body and soul) lasted for 25 minutes, but mainly repeated the same groove all the time, much like a mantra. Generally, this album was less effective than their first. Thomas Gartz later became a member of Arbete & Fritid.
