Whistler ~ 1971 ~ Ho Humgenre: folk, prog
    state: uk
quality: lossless (ape, cue, log, covers)
    time: 35:43 size: 192 mb

    Tapestry of Delights:
Deram collectors must wield quite some endurance. Sometimes their perseverance can be very rewarding, but more often than not they are confronted with the likes of Whistler. Backed by the very cream of the UK's studio musicians and aided by a sympathetic and lush production, this band manages to produce 12 tracks of completely similar sound and meagre melodic content. Even if all three vocalists sing nicely enough and all get songwriter's credits, the bulk of the material is weak or even downright boring. The band plays precisely though, but with this kind of half-folk there isn't much of interest to show for it. For completists only. Grout-Smith designed some brilliant cover art for this album. ~ (Marcel Koopman)

    Whalefeathers ~ 1970 ~ Declaregenre: prog related
    state: us
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, covers)
    time: 72:55 size: 436 mb

    Fuzz Acid & Flower:
From Cincinnati, Ohio, this outfit used to gig frequently with Westfauster and played a heavy, very keyboard-dominated blend of music. Their albums have distinct psychedelic influences and although both have their moments are sometimes a bit messy. Both albums are sought-after by collectors.
Lenny LeBlanc went on to become a successful Christian music artist, whilst Mike Wheeler who played with the band in their last two years, went on to work with Grammy winning Nashville songwriter Mike Reid. Wheeler also led an act called Wheels, who recorded on Boardwalk, with an album produced by Craig Fuller, and who toured with Little Feat in '78. He's also worked more recently with Paul Barrere. ~ (Vernon Joynson/Max Waller/Clark Faville)

    Westwind ~ 1970 ~ Love Is...genre: folk
    state: uk
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, cover)
    time: 38:23 size: 208 mb

    Tapestry of Delights:
An obscure band whose album is now an ultra-rarity, but why does it change hands for sums approaching £200? The female vocals are pleasant enough but the material is rather mundane folk-based pop. Still it was housed in an attractive cover.
They consisted of a trio of two guys and one girl.

West, Bruce & Laing ~ 1972 ~ Why Dontchagenre: heavy rhythm and blues
    state: uk
quality: lossless (ape, cue, log, covers)
    time: 39:38 size: 212 mb

    wikipedia:
West, Bruce and Laing (WBL) were a blues rock power trio super-group formed in 1972 by Leslie West (guitar and vocals; formerly of Mountain), Jack Bruce (bass, harp, keyboards and vocals; ex-Cream) and Corky Laing (drums and vocals; ex-Mountain). The band released two studio albums, Why Dontcha (1972) and Whatever Turns You On (1973), during their active tenure. Their disbanding was officially announced in early 1974 prior to the release of their third and last album, Live 'n' Kickin'.
In 2009 West and Laing briefly relaunched the band, with Jack Bruce's son Malcolm substituting for his father on bass. This incarnation of the band toured the UK and North America under the name "West, Bruce Jr. and Laing."

    Weidorje ~ 1978 ~ Weidorjegenre: zeuhl
    state: france
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, covers)
    time: 57:20 size: 377 mb

    progarchives:
Weidojie, formed in 1977 by two ex-Magma members, Bernard Paganotti and Patrick Gauthier (also keyboardist for Heldon, a group that featured Richard Pinhas) is one of Zheul's children, probably the most faithful and the closest musically and spiritually to Magma. One can find a mythology close to Magma's one : "the wait of a flying saucer that would come one morning take us with its new values, sane and safe".
Weidojie means "celestial wheel". This word appears for the very first time in Magma's album "Üdü Wüdü" in the form of a short track (4:30) composed by Paganotti and Blasquiz, the latter being the second master brain in Magma, along with Vander (Blasquiz achieved by the way Weidojie's cover art).
This tune foreshadows what Weidojie's music will be :
    - same hypnotical power as Magma but more rock-based, more accessible at first listen even if by mistake (as was the case with Magma) the music was regarded as dark or even unhealthy despite the melodical beauty of the themes.
    - incantatory repeats with a powerful bass and put very forward, brass and Magma-esque voices (although lyrics are not in Kobaïan they are a kind of Zheul scat)
    - polyrhythmicity in keyboard and guitar playing

We All Together ~ 1972 ~ We All Togethergenre: pop, psych
    state: peru
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, covers)
    time: 47:39 size: 317 mb

    Dreams Fantasies & Nightmares:
Comprised of members of Traffic Sound and Laghonia, We All Together were clearly influenced by The Beatles and mainstream pop. The Peruvian band's first album comprises fine covers of Badfinger's Carry On Til Tomorrow and The Walker Brothers' Walking In The Rain. Cover versions are outnumbered by their own compositions, though. Particularly ear-catching are It's A Sin To Go Away, with its fine echoed vocals and backwards guitar, but the Beatlesque pop of songs like Children, Tomorrow, Hey Revolution and Why is also well worth a listen.

the Way We Live ~ 1971 ~ A Candle For Judithgenre: folk, prog, psych
    state: uk
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, covers)
    time: 77:01 size: 322 mb

    Tapestry of Delights:
This duo hailed from Rochdale. Clayton was a part-time painter and poet. Milne was a Physical Education instructor and talented multi-instrumentalist.
Their album was a fine amalgam of folk, hard rock and psychedelia and is the most sought-after and expensive collectors' item associated with the Dandelion label. Highlights included the Eastern-influenced Siderial, the semi epic The Way Ahead and there's considerable musical contrast too between the hard rocker Willow, which has great vocals and guitars, and the gentle, acoustic style of Angie. Recommended listening. The band later evolved into Tractor.
