    Dreams Fantasies & Nightmares:

Led by Bob Bryden, who had earlier played in the Toronto, Ontario-based Reign Ghost, Christmas played in Oshawa, Ontario, between 1970-74. In the later years they were known as Spirit Of Christmas. When they formed on Christmas Day in 1969 their average age was just 17.

Christmas is best described as a progressive underground band. They were originally known as Black Christmas. The first album consists of three Bryden compositions characterized by lovely vocals and guitar work and two instrumentals composed by the whole band. One of these, the ambitious Jungle Fabulous, accounts for all of side 2. This album is their rarest artefact.

Heritage consists of heavy progressive underground rock and has its moments, particularly on Zephyr Song, April Mountain, which has some fine guitar work, and the title track. All the songs on the album were written and arranged by Bryden.

Lies To Live By is really their finest moment and arguably one of the best albums to come out of Canada in the 1970s. Very imaginative progressive rock. Almost every track is excellent and this album is strongly recommended.

    Fuzz Acid & Flowers:

One of the more commercial acts to come from San Antonio, Texas in the 1960s, Perron, Cabaza, Szuch, Trieber and Holzhaus had all previously been with The Mind's Eye. It had been speculated that Bill Ash (ex The Stoics) had been in The Children as a version of The Stoics Enough Of What I Need appeared on the flip of The Children's first single. Chris Holzhaus has, however, told us that he played on all The Children's recordings, and that Bill Ash had only been an early member of The Mind's Eye.

Mike Marechal replaced Trieber after Trieber was Killed in A Drag Boat accident at McQueeney Lake outside San Antonio Texas in '68.
Cassell Webb was later in Saddlesore and went on to production work and a solo career. She is now based in the UK. Perron also enjoyed a brief solo career but sadly committed suicide, whilst Holzhaus went on to Eastwood Review.

    Wiki:

In support of the US release of his album Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller), Beefheart and the Band undertook a promotional club tour. On Saturday 18 November 1978 they performed at My Father's Place in Roslyn, New York. My Father's Place was located under a motorway bridge, held about 200 people and the patrons sat at long tables and could dine whilst listening if they wished. The show was recorded and mixed directly to two-track tape.
