Fuzz Acid & Flowers:
Hailed from Baltimore, Maryland, where they formed in 1968. Both albums are full of guitar-oriented heavy rock gems and are recommended. The first features songs like Love Me, Death Comes Slowly and Keep On Livin, full of driving guitar and strong vocals. Comfort Of You has some nice jazzy piano playing but perhaps the finest track is the finale, Revenge, which features some superb Neil Young-influenced guitar playing. The second album is more of the same but slightly more aggressive vocally, particularly on the title track, and with more guitar exhibitionism on Hungary Man. Dream is a pleasant instrumental and Whisky And Gin pays its dues to the blues. The Gate provides a stunning finale much in the style of John Cipollina's Copperhead, but the first album seems marginally the better of the two. ~ (Vernon Joynson/Clark Faville)
