Tapestry Of Delights:
After leaving The Incredible String Band because they probably were too far-out for him, Clive Palmer moved to Penzance and cut two records with his "own band", which are now very sought-after. Even though Palmer is essentially a very limited vocalist and writer, and despite the extremely sparse and austere arrangements of his "folk" songs, both above albums manage to convey a surprisingly gripping atmosphere of sadness and resignation. His vocals waver, his compositions tend to be repetitive, still the result is nothing less than perplexing. Some of the tracks transmit a religious feeling, not in the usual sense of the word, but on a purely emotional level. Pretty convincing and recommended. Palmer then went on to participate in the Temple Creatures and Famous Jug Band.

Fuzz Acid & Flowers:
Hailing from Austin, Texas, this band played a mixture of hard rock, folk rock and West Coast with flower power lyrics. Their two albums are not easy to come by but they are not expensive and recommended for their excellent guitar work. The first album contains seven Bob Bruno songs (mostly psychedelic with some jazzy touches, notably on Wind) and four by Jerry Jeff Walker (which are more folk/rock oriented).
At the end of 1967 they gave a unique concert at the Carnegie Hall with the New York Pro Musica, a baroque ensemble.
Their second album is qually interesting and contains songs like Mixtures and Parallel which are really nice. Neither of these albums sold well however and the group broke up.
Jerry Walker later enjoyed a long and successful solo career, as a singer and a songwriter (his Mr. Bojangles was covered by many artists, including the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Bob Dylan).
