the Music Machine ~ 1999 ~ Turn On: The Very Best Of
    genre: garage
    country: us
quality: lossless (ape, cue, log, scans)
    time: 43'13" size: 242 mb

This album contains all 12 tracks from the Music Machine's 1966 debut album, (Turn On) The Music Machine (Original Sound 5015), including their two chart singles, "Talk Talk" and "The People in Me," plus both sides of both of their third and fourth singles, "Double Yellow Line"/"Absolutely Positive" and "I've Loved You"/"The Eagle Never Hunts the Fly." This is the group's entire output for Original Sound Records; they switched to Warner Bros. in 1967 and changed their personnel and their name to Bonniwell's Music Machine. Singer/guitarist/songwriter Sean Bonniwell dominates the proceedings with his sonorous voice, whether the band is playing originals like the unforgettable garage rock classic "Talk Talk" or such covers as the Beatles' "Taxman" and fellow garage dwellers ? & the Mysterians' "96 Tears." The playing is rudimentary, but more disciplined than that of many of the rock bands that came into existence in the mid-'60s, and Bonniwell's songwriting is sufficiently varied that it is regrettable the group didn't get much of a chance beyond its initial hit. ~ William Ruhlmann

    Il Mucchio ~ 1970 ~ Il Mucchio
    genre: prog
    country: italy
quality: lossless (ape, cue, log, scans)
    time: 47'11" size: 269 mb

    ItalianProg:
A five-piece from Venice, Il Mucchio were active from 1970 to 1973, releasing an album and three singles. Drummer Rebeschini had been in the first Le Orme line-up.
The group were produced and followed by a popular 60's singer, Pino Donaggio, who composed almost all their repertoire. The album, eight tracks for around 34 minutes, contains lightweight prog, mainly based on a thin organ and a very melodic singing that give the sound a strong sixties flavour. A reworking of Schubert's Ave Maria was also included.
A small similarity with New Trolls in their multivocal parts, but definitely not a memorable album.

Later singles (from 1972 and 1973) were in a similar vein, but with a more evident 70's prog feel in the arrangements and sounds, especially the last one Lei se ne andrà.
