Wiki:
Donovan wrote and recorded much of The Hurdy Gurdy Man in late 1967 not long after recording the songs that would form A Gift from a Flower to a Garden. The rest of The Hurdy Gurdy Man was recorded in April 1968, after he visited Rishikesh, India to study under Maharishi Mahesh Yogi; John Lennon, Cynthia Lennon, George Harrison, Pattie Boyd, Paul McCartney, Jane Asher, Mia Farrow, Prudence Farrow, and Mike Love were there as well. Donovan has since said in concerts that Harrison wrote a verse for "Hurdy Gurdy Man" when they were in India, but it wasn't recorded for the studio version.
The recording sessions for the album are purported to have included future Led Zeppelin members Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones. Page was in The Yardbirds at the time and was actively looking to rebuild that band. The album credits John Bonham for percussion on the song and Clem Cattini as the drummer.

Kissing Spell:
The first five tracks on this CD were recorded by Dark in '71, just before their legendary LP as the band entered their peak period.Tracks 6-11 were taped by the original line-up in '69 and '70, when they were still at school. Quality of these tracks is poor, but demand dictates their release.

Tapestry of Delights:
A keyboard-driven progressive band from Coventry. Some tracks are quite pleasant but there is a tendency for them to be over-long and sometimes a little monotonous.
Their manager was Jim Simpson who was managing Black Sabbath at the time. After signing Sabbath to the Vertigo label, he then signed Indian Summer with the same production team to record their debut album. Indian Summer's album of the same name was released two and a half years later, in 1971. But Indian Summer disbanded in the same year.
Bob Jackson became a member of Badfinger.

Tapestry of Delights:
Strings (courtesy of Henry Lowther and at times disturbingly out of key), dissonant flutes, half-competent guitars and a confusing array of mostly blues-based styles are the ingredients on this one-off album for Spark. Where the blues come out on top, there is nothing very special to attract the ear, apart from the fact that blues are often used not to express a blue state of mind, but rather to attempt to reflect some lost region of childlike innocence. Tribal rhythms are used throughout the album, to good effect especially on Confusion, the best cut. Otherwise the sound is often amateurish with many useless jams and repeats. Considering the low-key performances it is not easy to understand, why this has been so intensively sought-after, apart from its sheer rarity. To be filed under unnecessary purchases. It did come in a wonderfully psychedelic cover, though. Alan Feldman went on to start F.B.I. ~ (Marcel Koopman)
