Karen Dalton was part of the New York folk scene in the late sixties and a friend of Fred Neil. Her two solo albums are now sought after, especially the one on Capitol. Her last recording session seems to have been her participation on Alleged In Their Own Time, an album by The Holy Modal Rounders recorded in 1973 but released only in 1975. wiki: Eli is the fourth solo album by the Dutch guitarist Jan Akkerman. It appeared under the name "Jan Akkerman & Kaz Lux". The track "Strindberg" was written as a tribute to August Strindberg's works. A departure from the progressive rock that Focus (Akkerman's previous band) produced, "Eli" is a concept album with elements of jazz, pop, and funk intermixed. It won the Netherlands' Edison Award in 1976 for Best Album.

This was basically a Van der Graaf Generator offshoot. The privately-pressed album was for sale by mail order only. Van der Graaf regulars Banton, Evans, Potter and Jackson were joined by Curtis and Messina for this project, which was produced by Guy Evans and engineered by Hugh Banton to give it a real 'home demo' feel. Musically, it's long rambling jazz-rock tunes and improvisations were gentle and quite relaxing in their own way.
Later albums were made, beyond the time span of this book, which revolved around Van der Graaf members but they were a pretty fluid line-up. ~ MWh
