Fuzz Acid & Flowers:
This band played in Tyler, Texas between 1965-69. Their founder Ronnie Weiss and Dave Stanley and Jeff Howell had all previously played together in an outfit called Jerry Vee and The Catalinas. Weiss had also done studio work for Robin Hood Brians studio. Lead guitarist Bugs Henderson joined from an instrumental combo called The Sensors and played on some of The Cast of Thousand's 45s. Their first 45, a Dylan soundalike, actually made the Billboard charts climbing to No. 121. The follow-up was as good, if not better, but poorly marketed and failed to repeat their early chart success. A later 45 Sometimes You Just Can't Win (Fraternity 1005) did spend one week at No 125 and was also a regional hit in Tyler and Louisville, Kentucky.
The band also recorded a couple of 45s under pseudonyms:- I've Got Her Love/As Far As The Sea (Fraternity 983) 1967 was issued as Chris St. John and in the same year they issued Psychotic Reaction/l3 O'Clock Theme For Psychotics (HBR 500) 1967 with the singer Jimmy Rabbit as Positively Thirteenth O'Clock. Their two Bell 45s were produced by Dale Hawkins and the band were included on two of his 45s and his LP, L.A., Memphis and Tyler, Texas (Bell 6036).
The band split late in 1969. There was a very brief reformation in 1972 (line-up D) and Weiss, Stanley and Murray then went on to play together in another Texan band, Rio Grande.
Buddy 'Bugs' Henderson now has a pretty fair reputation in Texas as a "legendary blues guitarist." He currently records for a Colorado indie named Flat Canyon Records. ~ (Vernon Joynson / Max Waller / Paul Moffett)

wikipedia:
Mr Fox were an early 1970s electric folk or folk rock band. They were seen as in the ‘second generation’ of electric folk performers and for a time were compared with Steeleye Span and Sandy Denny’s Fotheringay. Unlike Steeleye Span they mainly wrote their own material in a traditional style and developed a distinct ‘northern’ variant of the genre. They demonstrate the impact and diversity of the electric folk movement and the members went on to pursue significant careers within the electric folk and traditional music genres after they disbanded in 1972 having recording two highly regarded albums.
