Crack in the Cosmic Egg:
An international combo of uncertain historical roots, who were apparently based in Switzerland.
Spot played a mixture of progressive and psychedelic styles, with an Anglo (a very Robert Plant/Led Zeppelin style of vocals) and American feel (hints of the West Coast and Boston sounds), with nods to hard-rock Krautrock style. Curiously, one of the stand-out tracks is an excellent extended version of Donovan's "Jersey Thursday".
Their LP was originally released in France, however they also toured southern Germany and gained a local reputation for their reputedly excellent live sets.

wikipesia:
The album title is taken from the song of the same name. The song "Dirty Water" was written by the album's producer, Ed Cobb. Its Boston and Charles River references are reportedly based on an experience that Cobb and his girlfriend had with a mugger in Boston in the mid-1960s. As for the Standells band members, they were from Southern California and had never been to Boston before recording the song.
Prior to this album, The Standells had only released three singles and a live album: The Standells in Person at P.J.'s (1964). Dirty Water would become the band's best-selling LP, peaking at #52 on the Billboard charts, and #39 in the Cashbox listings. The "Dirty Water" single fared much better, peaking at #11 in Billboard and #8 in Cashbox.

Tapestry of Delights:
The albums are now minor collectables. A couple of bar-room piano boogies popular during their live act are included but beyond these are some solid R&B numbers written by band members. I Want You, a Graham Bond number opens the album strongly and She's Gone is a definite highlight. John Morgan went on to record solo albums. ~ (Vernon Joynson/Mike Warth/Barry Margolis)

wikipedia:
Not selling as many records as they had hoped, Steamhammer nevertheless became a top European open-air attraction, mainly due to their excellent live performance. For over two hours each night they would provide instrumental improvisations, exemplarised by the guitar work of Martin Pugh and the harmonica of Kieran White. In summer 1969, Martin Quittenton left the band, followed by drummer Michael Rushton. They were replaced by Steve Jolliffe (saxophone, flute) and Mick Bradley (drums).
Jollife's feel for precise arrangements and jazz influences especially inspired the recording of this second Mk II album. Going beyond the boundaries of traditional blues forms, the band members applied their musical creativity and imagination without the need for technical trickery.
