from Gibraltar: Sax/bass/drums jazz/blues trio who got lots of acclaim because of the bass player (Colin Hodgkinson), who played chords and treated his bass like a guitar. The two first albums had prog overtones and definitely had strong moments and original ideas. The group later faded completely into blues and lost appeal. Back Door toured with Emerson, Lake and Palmer, in fact Carl Palmer was the producer of Activate. Bassist Colin Hodgkinson played with Jan Hammer among others after Back Door broke up in 1977. -- Fred Trafton
