Dreams, Fantasies & Nightmares: Mike Furber originally fronted a Brisbane mid-sixties outfit Mike Furber and The Bowery Boys. In 1966, when he was still just seventeen, Furber went solo. He met with considerable success with his first two 45s, but suffered unfavourable comparisons with
Normie Rowe, and his popularity soon diminished.
After a spell of national service, he appeared in two stage musicals in 1973; 'Godspell' and 'Nuclear'. After being sacked from the second of these and with his fortunes at an all-time low, he hung himself in May 1973. 01. Stop 2:00
