This was one of Birmingham's top bands who were joined by Roy Wood after the first couple of 45s. They met with no Chart success and in mid-1965 became Mike Sheridan's Lot. All your 45s are now quite collectable. The most accessible guide to their music is the Edsel compilation which includes all eight 45 tracks, the two 'A' sides by Mike Sheridan's Lot (a later version of this band); two previously unreleased songs by The Nightriders:- covers of Vince Taylor's Brand New Cadillac and The Shirelles' A Thing Of The Past and Make Them UnderstandRoy Wood's first published composition, which was pretty naff really. Overall, it's an album of solid but unexceptional beat music.

    • ROY WOOD gtr
This was a later version of Birmingham-based Mike Sheridan and The Nightriders which carried on for one 45 as The Nightriders when Sheridan left in 1966 to go solo and Roy Wood departed to form The Move. Sheridan eventually formed a duo with Rick Price. With the addition of Jeff Lynne The Nightriders eventually became Idle Race.
