Tapestry Of Delights:
Originally known as The Silverstone Set this band gigged around the Midlands and North Wales. They also appeared on 'Opportunity Knocks', apparently they won five times! This helped secure a contract with Decca. They played a sort of blue-eyed soul and in Ted Yeadon's vocals they had quite an asset. The 'A' side of their second 45, Do Unto Others, was taken from the 'Mr. Rose' TV series and you'll also find the flip, quite an appealing piece of blue-eyed soul on Rubble Vol. 6: The Clouds Have Groovy Faces (LP) and Rubble Vol. 4 (CD). Their sole album was a bit inconsistent. One of the tracks from it, Has Anybody Seen Her?, was also included on Nova Sampler in 1970; whilst Broken Dreams, Vol. 3 gave a further airing to both Mother Goose and Has Anybody Seen Her?.
Andy Scott later became Sweet's lead guitarist. Dave Scott was later in Northwind. They also went on to back Scaffold, The Love Affair and Henry Cow.
