Tapestry od Delights:
This was originally a very loosely knit band which came together as a sort of drinking gang/motorcycle club for Steve Took (after he was sacked from T Rex), Twink and The Deviants. They were also known as Shagrat at this time. Some of the early members soon drifted away. Their second drummer, David Bidwell, died of a heroin overdose. They eventually stabilised into line-up and after a gig at The Roundhouse signed to Polydor. This line-up cut the first 45 and album. After this Twink left to spend a spell in Morocco. Meanwhile the band, along with Hawkwind, developed a reputation as one of Britain's top hippie bands invariably playing for free at key rock festivals in the era. They often did joint 'Pinkwind' sets with Hawkwind.
