    ProgArchives:
After being the leader of Harmonia (post Neu ! project), the legendary krautrocker Klaus Dinger formed La! Neu? This mid 90's musical excursion is an obvious reference to Neu! and La Düsseldorf. The group released a few albums for Captain Trip Records. Klaus Dinger's La! Neu? practice a positive, pulsating and improvised kraut electronica. The semi-floating/melodic "Gold Regen" (1998) and the long time unreleased live "Year of the tiger" are among the most important contributions.

    Cosmic Dreams:
...the group Neu from Dusseldorf was certainly an extraordinary duo with many brave and innovative ideas. Michael Rother and Klaus Dinger came together late in 1971. Dinger had recently contributed to the first Kraftwerk-album. In December 1971 they recorded their first album over four nights at Windrose Studios in Hamburg, with Konrad Plank producing. Tracks like "Hallogallo" were guided by a characteristic, repeating metronomic drum beat, as the basis for 10 minutes of harmonic guitar improvisations in just one key. This music naturally paid homage both to Kraftwerk's klingklang music and to Can's 'live in the studio' works. Other tracks had strange continuums of rural environment sounds, glissando guitars, peculiar vocals and sound effects. All together a rather naive and playful form of avant-garde music, resulting in a very original album!
However, Neu 2 (1973) merely repeated this formula. Side one had a classic Neu track in "Fur Immer", sounding very close to the previously issued "Hallogallo" On side two, the A and B sides of a 1972 single ("Neuschnee" coupled with "Super") were the subjects for tape manipulations of different sorts - slowed down, speeded up or dubbed (and with pre-recorded vinyl scratches and noises added)! If Capitol made nine US albums out of five UK Beatles albums, Neu taught the music business other ways to stretch a single all over an-LP's side! It's not a bad album, but a little superfluous when compared with their first. Attempts to present Neu live (with ex-Guru Guru member Uli Trepte on bass) in November 1972 were terminated after 6 concerts.

New Trolls - 1972 - Concerto grosso per Igenre: sympho prog

oe : one of bestest psych/prog lp forever(

    ItalianProg:
One of the hardest group's histories to compile, New Trolls' story is full of line-up changes, band name changes, struggles between band members... and great hits! In their long story New Trolls have been one of the most popular bands in Italy, and they crossed many different styles, passing through beat, slight psychedelia, progressive, hard rock and melodic pop.
The story begins in Genova around mid 60's, when the five musicians, considered among the best in town, decided to form a band, the name coming from the old band of one of them, the Trolls. After some dates as support band for the Rolling Stones, they released their debut single Sensazioni in 1967, the first of a very long series of singles. The band was one of the best live acts in Italy at the time, and Hendrix-inspired guitarist Nico Di Palo was one of the first italian guitar heroes.

    genre: fusion
    country: germany
    quality : mp3 (320k, scans)
    time: 40'13" size: 93 mb

    Cosmic Dreams:
The first Niagara album was the recorded experience of five percussionists. Two more percussionists guested: Daniel Fichelscher and George Green. The album could reasonably be summed up thus: 'DRUMMELUMM-MELUMMM'!!! Two side length pieces of unaccompanied percussion, highly influenced by South-American rhythms - take it or leave it! Anyway, it's an honourably un-commercial project! The second Niagara-album, named S.U.B. (1972), was a more conventional jazz-rock fusion work, although still highly focused on percussion and rhythms. Weiss, Lindenberg and Fichelscher were here joined by Paul Vincent (guitar), Gary Unwin (bass, later of Joy Fleming Band and Ralf Nowy group), Christian Schultze (el.-piano, Passport), Ack van Rooyen (fluegelhorn, trumpet), Ferdinand Povel (sax, flute), Milan Pilar (bass on one track) and Joe Karris (timbales, congas, percussion). The rhythmic feeling on this album, recorded during February 1972 at Studio 70, Munich, could in some ways be compared to Embryo on their album Embryo's Rache (1971). I have no idea who played on the last Niagara- album: Afire (1973)

Asbjørnsen - Scented Gardens Of The Mind:

The Black &  Blue (the English translation of their name) was formed in 1961 by Franticzek Walicki, although he had disappeared by the time of their first album. From 1962 to 1966 Czesław Niemen was their principal vocalist and songwriter, a period filled with blues and jazz-influenced pop hits (perhaps similar to early Manfred Mann) and live performances in France, Sweden. Hungary and Yugoslavia. Four members left the group in 1965 to form Czerwony Gitary, but Niemen stayed for another year and was present on Niebiesko-Czarni's first album.

Twarze (1970) was probably their finest album (although I haven't heard all of them). Its 12 songs were a mixture of 60's pop, r&b, soul, jazz and even mild psychedelia. On the instrumental side, on offer is a wah-wah drenched organ and bluesy guitar statement in the style of Blackout (or even early Eric Clapton). The more soul-influenced numbers have multiple saxophones arranged in an old-fashioned way.

Gentle Giant - 1996 - Edge Of Twilightgenre: prog
    country: uk
quality : lossless (ape, cue, log,  scans)
    time: 1:18'42"+1:17'48"
    size: 863 mb
issue:  2cd compilation of  '72-'74, remastered

    blazemonger:
This 2-CD Gentle Giant anthology from Polygram UK contains material from Gentle Giant, Acquiring The Taste, Three Friends, Octopus, and The Power and the Glory. The recordings have all been remastered. The set comes with a 12-page booklet containing an original essay and several photos.
The album was originally going to be called "Dusky Voices," but this name was dropped. Nevertheless, some CD catalogs list "Dusky Voices" as a Gentle Giant album.
Some copies of the album have a sticker that states: "Includes many tracks previously unavailable on CD." I'm not completely sure what this means. All of the songs have previously been released on CD, but it's possible that some alternative master tapes were used. Most notably, this set is the only CD release containing a correct recording of Acquiring The Taste (song) without the defective "bend" found in most other copies.
