    Metamorfosi - 2000 - Infernogenre: prog
    country: italy
quality : lossless (ape, cue, log, scans)
    time: 40'10" size: 248 mb

    ItalianProg:
A band based in Rome, though their singer Jimmy Spitaleri was from Sicily, Metamorfosi have released with Inferno another of those album that any italian prog fan should have.
The group was formed by Spitaleri and Olivieri in 1969, both coming from beat groups specialized in the "beat mass" typical of those years.
Their first album, ...e fu il sesto giorno, contains seven songs, the main elements of the band's music are already there, with the almost operatic voice of Jimmy Spitaleri in great evidence and the nice classical influenced playing of keyboards player Enrico Olivieri on a strong rhythm section, but the album is still fragmented and not particularly imaginative, and some 60's influences can still be heard.
Second album, Inferno, is their masterpiece, with two long suites (there are 16 titles on the cover but these are only the small pieces forming the Inferno suite) and the majestic voice of Spitaleri perfectly mixed with Olivieri's keyboards to form a highly original and exciting result. Tracks like Caronte are among the best of the italian prog!

Lee Mallory - 1968 - That's The Way It's Gonna Begenre: beat, sunshine pop
    country: us
quality : lossless (ape, cue, log, small cover, 316 mb), mp3 (320k, cover, 127 mb)
    time: 55'49" issue: ?

Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Lee Mallory might be best known as a member of the Millennium, the late-'60s sunshine pop group that garnered a sizable cult following with their sole album. Mallory wrote or co-wrote some of the material for the elaborately produced band, which crossed the sound of the 1966-1967 Beach Boys with more pop-oriented Southern California harmony pop. On the Millennium's Begin album, Mallory was the sole writer of the tracks "I'm with You," "Sing to Me," and "Some Sunny Day," co-authoring some of the other tunes as well.
Mallory also did a couple of singles under his own name for Valiant Records in 1966-1967. The most successful of these, "That's the Way It's Gonna Be," reached number 86 and was a big hit in Seattle. It was also the most notable of his recording efforts, with a buoyant yet complex production heavy on producer Curt Boettcher's trademark high vocal-harmony arrangements. Surprisingly, this was a cover of a song written by Phil Ochs and folk musician Bob Gibson (and appears in a folk version on Ochs' The Broadside Tapes 1 album), though its folk roots were pretty unrecognizable by the time Mallory and Boettcher had made it over into a densely produced pop/rock single. Mallory had in fact been a folk musician in the early and mid-'60s, though he went in a very pop direction after hooking up with Boettcher. Mallory also contributed to various other Boettcher-associated groups, including the Ballroom, Summer's Children, and Sagittarius.
Mallory did quite a bit of recording in the 1960s that was never issued at the time. Twenty of his 1966-1970 demos appear on the CD That's the Way It's Gonna Be, comprised primarily of his own compositions. These form a worthwhile adjunct to his better-known work with the Millennium, sometimes with a harder-rocking current than flows through the Millennium's material. ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide

    genre: canterbury
    country: uk
quality : lossless (ape, cue, log, scans)
    time: 43`00"
    size: 223 mb

    Tapestry of Delights:
Robert Wyatt formed this group soon after leaving Soft Machine in 1971. He'd cut a solo album, The End Of An Ear, prior to leaving The Soft Machine. David Sinclair had previously been with Caravan; Phil Miller with Delivery (and the short-lived DC The MBs, who didn't make it onto vinyl) and Bill McCormick had been in the obscure Quiet Sun. David Sinclair left during the recording of their debut album and Dave McRae came in as a replacement. The album contained considerable experimentation but it often clicked, particularly on Side 1, on which O Caroline, Instant Pussy and Signed Curtain were the highlights. Indeed, O Caroline and Signed Curtain were so well-liked they were put out on a 45.
