    Scented Gardens Of the Mind:
This band was based in Germany, where their only album was released as a limited edition in 1974. Their sound was very heavy, energetic and loud, dominated by tough fuzz guitar (sometimes multi-tracked), organ and a high-pitched vocalist comparable to Nico Di Palo in New Trolls. Being isolated from the Italian progressive rock scene, Atlantide were probably more influenced by British heavy rock groups like Black Sabbath and Atomic Rooster and their German counterparts. The best track is 11-minute ‘Quando La Luna’ where the music ranged from rather heavy to extremely heavy! As such. The album is recommended for funs of heavy-progressive music, but it is perhaps too limited instrumentally and lacking in variety others. Still, the album is remarkable for its stunning fuzz guitar sound!

    Scented Gardens Of The Mind:

The Beginning Of The End (1975) starts off with kettledrums imitating a clock before the well-known organ tunes from J. S. Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor (BWV 565) take us into the shadows of doom on the very last day of the world. This instrumental concept album consists only of one track broken into 18 sections where the electric guitar and organ are exploring a succession of themes (including even more Bach). Arguably, this album is close to the Italian 'musical drama' tradition of albums such as Formula 3's Dies Irae and Metamorfosi's Inferno. Atila's sound was heavier than these, though - more like a raw-edged cross between Vanilla Fudge and Deep Purple. This album was a private release in an edition of 1,000 copies, of which some were sold and others were destroyed. It's in high demand and among the most expensive Spanish records on the collector's market.

The band was rewarded with a recording contract with BASF. The resulting album Intention (1976) lacked the raw power of its predecessor, aiming for a more dynamic and symphonic sound with a richer array of keyboards (and even choir vocals). Still the focal point was the superb guitar work of Eduardo Niebla. One side of the album contained a compressed version of "The Beginning Of The End". This is an excellent album very close to the Italian ambitious progressive rock style.

Atila's final album Reviure (1977) became the peak of their achievement with four ambitious (and mostly instrumental) tracks. This is serious progressive rock without pomp and painful clichйs, maintaining the energy of rock music in inspired solo excursions, mainly by synthesizer and electric guitar .

    Scented Gardens Of The Mind:
A precursor to this band was formed in Copenhagen in early 1964 but their strong orientation towards blues-rock began only with the arrival of Peter Thorup in 1966. In 1967, The Beefeaters played as support band for Jimi Hendrix, John Mayall and Pink Floyd during their concerts in Denmark. Both albums were top notch "real" blues-rock efforts to file along with albums by John Mayall, early Fleetwood Mac or even Cuby & The Blizzards. The first album was, along with Steppeulvene, the most important Danish album of 1967. The Beefeaters weren't entirely blues purists either but also displayed beat and soul influences. The sound (very well developed for 1967) was largely based on Thorup's two talents as vocalist and guitarist, but Kjжrumsgеrd's Farfisa organ (sometimes replaced by piano) obviously augmented the group sound. Burnin' Red Ivanhoe was one of many groups who later copied this distinctive organ sound.

In 1969, Povl Dissing left the group, which continued for a while with Ole Fick (from Burnin' Red Ivanhoe) as their lead singer. The post-Dissing group made the soundtrack to "Smil Emil" but no further vinyl output emerged.

    Fuzz Acid & Flowers:

This was a local California album recorded by a local Nevada group in December 1967. Only three or four original copies of this record have surfaced, despite being on a "real" label, and produced by Strawberry Alarm Clock guru Bill Holmer. According to the band, however, a few hundred copies were pressed at the time.

On offer is a pleasant Summer-Of-Love flower-pop with occasional outbursts of acidic guitar. This should appeal to fans of the Peanut Butter Conspiracy

    Crack In The Cosmic Egg:
When Twenty Sixty Six And Then started, they were veritably a supergroup who didn't yet know it! Their lead singer Geff Harrison had decided to stay in Germany after leaving an early incarnation of Beggar's Opera (he also worked with I Drive for a while), he and guitarist Gagey Mrozeck went on to Kin Ping Meh, Konstantin Bommarius went to Abacus and then Karthago, Veit Marvos went to Emergency, Dieter Bauer joined Aera, and Steve Robinson later joined forces with Michael Bundt and others.
During their brief year or so existence, Twenty Sixty Six And Then made one of the most touted of heavy psychedelic Krautrock albums. REFLECTIONS ON THE FUTURE took Krautrock stylisms and hard-rock, added some Zappa touches, riffing aggression of the heavy Bacillus-label bands, and even some off-the-wall electronics. With a playful edge, and Geff Harrison at his finest, it all gave rise to a unique combination of styles that is fresh in many ways even today.
The REFLECTIONS ON THE PAST release features other studio sessions featuring longer or radically different and unedited versions of tracks from the album, along with other unreleased works. The CD of REFLECTIONS! compiles the best of their oeuvre onto one disc, amounting to an extended version of the original album.

    Tapestry of Delights:
The Tremeloes were originally Tommy Steele's and then Brian Poole's backing band. At the start of 1966, Poole left to go solo and the Trems branched out on their own. Within a few months, Poole was back in the family butchers shop in Dagenham but The Tremeloes blossomed with a series of mostly bright and breezy pop songs, registering seven Top Ten hits between 1967 and 1970.
After Blessed, their debut 45 flopped, they switched to CBS. They didn't fare much better with their cover of Lennon/McCartney's Good Day Sunshine (from The Beatles' Revolver album), but after Mick Clark left, his replacement, Len 'Chip' Hawkes, helped to develop a more distinct harmony vocal style that brought the band success.
Their big breakthrough came with their happy-go-lucky rendition of Cat Stevens' Here Comes My Baby. This catchy pop song got to No 4 in the UK and No 13 in the US and, in my view, was the best thing they did. The follow-up, a cover of a Four Seasons' 'B' side, Silence Is Golden, was a tortuous harmony ballad but sold like wildfire to become the band's best-selling single, topping the UK Charts for three weeks. It eventually climbed to No 11 in the US, where it became a million-seller. Its constant reissue throughout the early seventies meant we were seldom spared from hearing it for long. Their debut album, Here Comes The Tremeloes (it was titled Here Comes My Baby in the US) also sold well, although it was their only album that did, climbing to No 15 in the UK and No 119 in the US.
