Dreams Fantasies & Nightmares:
Formed in Toronto, Ontario in 1971 this pop/rock band's roots lay in sixties outfit, The Lords Of London, who were later known as Nucleus.
Bob Horne was born on New Year's Eve, 1949 in Toronto. He played keyboards during his childhood and later studied at the London Conservatory near Toronto. Horne had been a founding member of The Lords Of London and was also in Nucleus. He played a wide range of keyboards on their albums (harpsichords, pianos, Hammond organ and synthesizers).
Hughie Leggat had been born in Glasgow on 3rd May 1951, but he moved to Toronto as a child. He developed a love of urban blues, idolising artists like Chuck Berry, B.B. King and Jimmy Reed, but later got into more contemporary sounds like The Beatles and Rolling Stones.
Alex Machin derived from Glasgow too, entering the world on 16th February 1949. Like Leggat, he too moved to Toronto as a child. He started out in R'n'B bands but by the late sixties was caught up in the progressive rock blues scene. He played with Paul Naumann in Island prior to joining A Foot In Coldwater.

ItalianProg:
A 12-piece group based in Genova (but probably from Sardinia), the members of this band were all relatives.
In 1972 they played at Genova Pop Festival and appeared on TV at Festival di Sanremo as backing vocalists with Delirium.
Their only album from 1973 can hardly be described as a progressive LP, being mostly folk-influenced and with large use of acoustic instruments and multi-vocal parts in West Coast style. Among the eight tracks even an italian translation of english traditional John Barleycorn. Despite this is the album is well considered among some collectors.
Two singles were taken from the album, but this group disappeared with no trace.

Tapestry of Delights:
Coming together in the Muswell Hill area of London, Fairport Convention were heavily influenced in their early days by US West Coast outfits like Jefferson Airplane. From the Spring of 1967 through till November of the same year they were a regular attraction at London's Underground venues like The Middle Earth and The UFO Club.
After their interesting debut album Judy Dyble departed to form Trader Horne, being replaced by Sandy Denny from The Strawbs. What We Did On Our Holidays was an excellent and diverse album, but it marked the start of their movement towards traditional British music, which led Ian Matthews to depart and form Matthews Southern Comfort. A month before the release of Unhalfbricking the band's van was involved in a motorway crash in which Martin Lamble was killed. However, they survived this major setback. Dave Swarbrick came in, initially as a session man, but he became a permanent member. Dave Mattacks replaced Lamble on drums. This revised line-up produced Liege And Lief, which is regarded by some as the finest British folk-rock album.
