the Latter Days ~ 1972 ~ Apocalypsegenre: psych
    state: israel
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, covers)
    time: 40'30" size: 240 mb

Formed in 1971, the Latter Days was the first artistic rock band in Israel. At the time, it wasn't much appreciated by local listeners, but for the years followed, Israeli audience began to adapt to this unique blend of 60's British rock'n'roll and Israeli folk music. Zohar Levi (drums and composition) added some influences from sophisticated trends that were going on at the time, like The Beatles later albums, and Proto-Prog bands. Their music is full of drive, and is related quite easily to hard rock. Due to commercial failure,
the Latter Days disbanded only a year after being formed, leaving only one album behind them.
The 1972 album contains some of Israel`s best poetry put to rock music by Zohar Levi, the band`s percussionist. The album is considered by many as a masterpiece.

Last Straw ~ Alone On A Stonegenre: heavy
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, covers)
    time: 54'36" size: 323 mb

    Kissing Spell:
Last Straw hail from the Isle of Wight and began recording circa 1972. They released a single in 1978 and toured extensively. The early studio tracks on this CD show a brilliant progressive rock talent somewhere inbetween Yes and Hawkwind. The period feel of "Terence", its nifty lyricisim and awesome climactic jam elevate it into classicdom. Later tracks veer into a guitar based Wishbone Ash territory.

    Laser Pace ~ 1974 ~ Granfalloongenre: prog
    country: us
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, covers)
    time: 39'28" size: 305 mb

LASER PACE is an american progressive rock band from early ?70?s who managed to release one album in 1973, Granfaloon, issued by Takoma records. The music is very challenging and experimental combining progressive rock with funk, jazz and even other crossover moments giving to this album a special status in this genre. Featuring excellent musicians including the brilliant voice of Maureen O'Connor - who can sing in a wide range of sounds - definetly the cherry on the cake here. The guitar and mellotron moments are also very interesting and spacey, sometimes developing more jamming or jazzy moments, more towards the end of the album. They disbanded in 1976.

    Lamb ~ 1971 ~ Cross Betweengenre: psych
    country: us
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, covers)
    time: 39'28" size: 234 mb

    Fuzz Acid & Flowers:
From San Francisco, Lamb was primarily a hippy duo formed by Barbara Mauritz and Bob Swanson. Appearing at several concerts in the Bay Area, by the time of their third album, they were a quintet with a strong rhythm section, backing Barbara Mauritz' powerful voice. Their music is a mix of west coast and soul with some oriental and jazzy influences.
From Beaumont, Texas originally, Barbara Mauritz was born into a very musical family that claims Gypsy blood. At the age of four she began playing piano and at fifteen started playing in the local clubs. There she met artists like Edgar and Johnny Winter and Janis Joplin, the latter being a close friend of Barbara's sister.
A year later, Barbara moved first to Houston, where she opened for Lightning Hopkins and The American Blues, and then New Orleans. Around this time she started playing guitar and composing songs, but it wasn't long before the attractive "new sounds" coming out from California led her to settle in San Francisco.
There she formed Lamb with Bob Swanson and after being spotted by producer David Rubinson, got to open for CSN & Y at the Winterland for four nights. Suitably impressed, Bill Graham took Lamb under his wing. In 1969 their first album for the Fillmore label, A Sign Of Change was released. Still today it has a unique and very distinctive sound, enhanced by the unusual instrumentation: classical guitars, upright bass, cello, flute, oboe and Barbara's beautiful voice. Traveler's Observation, In My Dreams and The Odyssey of Ehram Spickor are real gems of acoustic psych-rock.
