Fuzz Acid & Flowers:
A very U.S. West Coast sounding group who seemed similar to Jefferson Airplane, Peanut Butter Conspiracy etc. on their album. Since Hobbit Records were a subsidiary of GRT Records they were probably Californian. The album contains some pleasant vocal arrangements/harmonies and nice touches of acid and fuzz guitar and is recommended. It is becoming a minor collectable. ~ (Vernon Joynson / Max Waller)

ItalianProg:
I Santoni were formed in Florence in the second half of the 60's, the early line-up included bassist Marco Puggelli and drummer Wilson Lupi, later replaced by Giovanni Rondelli and Fabrizio Prussi.
In 1971 their first single was issued by Car Juke Box, Amico mio, which demonstrated the group's sound, based on the Hammond organ played by Bruno Mosti and the flutes and saxes of Bettazzi and Gorini.
The ultrarare only album by I Santoni was released in 1972, but like similar LP's from that period (I Boom, Laser, Raminghi, Il Mucchio) it's strongly influenced by a sixties sound.
The starting track Quelli come noi (also on single) reminds of Delirium's Jesahel with good flute work. The rest of the album is on a good level, though never particularly exciting.
The nine tracks (all in the 3-4 minute range with the sole exception of Verità at 5:33) show the good voice in evidence as was common practice in the 60's Italian pop.
The LP was not very successful, but gave the group the chance to play all over Italy and later in France and Switzerland, until their break-up in 1974.

roackadrome:
One of the earliest progressive albums to be recorded in Holland, this originally appeared in 1969 on the UK-based label Page One, and has been compared to the work of King Crimson and the Moody Blues. Its lengthy title suite is a notable early concept rock piece, while the other tracks find the band embracing a more concise and melodic style

discogs:
Sandstone’s sole 1971 privately pressed album is one of the best and rarest early 70s US psychedelic folk rock records. Although only recently rediscovered, it is very sought after from worldwide collectors both for its rarity and musical quality. Great male female vocals in an early 70s UK psychedelic acid folk rock sound similar to Tudor Lodge, Jade etc. It contains 2 previously unreleased bonus tracks, not included in the original album.Highly recommended!

Fuzz Acid & Flowers:
Sam The Sham, christened Samudio Domingo, was a Mexican-American who was born in Dallas, Texas. He formed this outfit with the Pharaohs, (who were also of Tex-Mex origin and musical inspiration), in Memphis, Tennessee in the early sixties. Their early recordings included Haunted House, a cover version of Gene Simmons' novelty rock hit. Wooly Bully, a real sixties rocker was then leased to MGM in 1965 by Stan Kesler's Pen Records in Memphis. It gave the band a U.S. No. 1 and also reached No. 11 in the UK. The band relocated to Dallas and for a time were very successful indeed.
Eventually the hits dried up and they disbanded in 1970. Ten Of Pentacles had essentially been a solo effort from Samudio and in the seventies he embarked on a solo career.
Wooly Bully is one of the Soundtrack songs to the 1979 MCA film 'More American Graffiti'. Earlier in 1965 the band had performed Monkey See Monkey Do in the Soundtrack to the 1965 MGM production 'When The Boys Meet The Girls', which was a weird re-make of the Gershwin brothers' musical 'Girl Crazy'.
Sam The Sham's backing singers The Shamettes also made some recordings in their own right. ~ (Vernon Joynson/Stephane Rebeschini/Jon Riley)
