A Montreal, Quebec-based jazzy progressive outfit. The first album features female vocals and some heavy bluesy parts. The second album is more progressive and dedicated to Franck Dervieux. Members of the band also played on her 1970 keyboard-led prog psych album Dimension M. Several Contraction members were later in the heavier Ville Emard Blues Band.
