Oldish Psych and Prog

I remember them very well, they were the only experimental band within quite a large area.

This area of Italy was the most industrialised place in the southern regions, hence the name 'Officina Meccanica'.
The guys did not all work in heavy industry or mechanical engineer factories - and I cannot remember what all their day jobs were. But did they love music. They were all practising as much as they could, despite reduced time on their hands.

For me their music was like being thrown at the deep end of everything, while I could not really understand anything.
It is a real shame that they were so much ahead of their times, and yet - for me they are a band to be treasured somewhere deep in my older memories.

I 'blame' them for having then gone on to loving every bit of music I discovered afterwards, my family was totally uninterested in music and these guys were THE source of inspiration in the place where I lived.

I realise this is more of a personal experience than a critical evaluation, but music is, after all, an intense personal experience.
