Tapestry Of Delights:
One of many one-off albums on Deram, this is actually one of the better ones on that label. The sound is greatly influenced by medieval and renaissance music, but without being purist or overtly complicated like Gryphon. It's main strength is the nice three-part vocal harmony which is present in nearly every song. Still, oboes, bassoons and trumpets abide, as do some interesting string arrangements. Some tracks like Peppermint Store have a definite sixties feel in being good-natured as well as intriguing. There is also a very strong 'British' flavour in the music. Recommended, but rather light-weight. (Marcel Koopman).
