Scented Gardens Of The Mind:
A heavy rock group which formed in 1972. The first Flax album sold poorly at the time of release in 1976 and has become something of a collector's item. It contained theatrical heavy rock (vocalist Hermod Falch was occasionally dressed in a skeleton costume when the group performed live), strongly influenced by Deep Purple (at the time of Machine Head) and, to a lesser degree, Uriah Heep and Queen. Their music also had some symphonic elements. Flax disbanded in 1975 some months before their debut album was released but a new line-up appeared in 1978. The resulting Flax Tapes (1980) showed some musical improvement, but was indeed closer in content to heavy rock than to progressive rock. Willy Bendiksen also played with Hшst and Jшrun Bшgeberg occasionally with Junipher Greene

Fuzz Acid & Flowers: From Chicago, a mix of psyche and heavy rock, with good organ and guitars plus the powerful voice of their singer, who was probably influenced by Janis Joplin.
This outfit reportedly evolved out of
The One Eyed Jacks from Champaign, Illinois.

Garden of Delights:
Eulenspygel were one of the first bands in the early 1970s to risk the change from English to German lyrics. Only mainstream pop songs were in German, and people were afraid of becoming associated with that sort of shallow music. But the band succeeded as can be seen from the quality of their first record "Eulenspygel 2”, the first record to be published on the Spiegelei label from Stuttgart. The number "2” in the title was due to the fact that the band’s predecessor, Royal Servants, had already released an LP entitled "We” in 1970 featuring the same line-up. As a consequence of the change from English to German lyrics, the band named itself after the German wag Till Eulenspiegel in order to make society and state look into the mirror by posing intelligent and inciting questions.

Cosmic Dreams:
Another one of those sacred "heavy progressive" legends! Grave were a band of teenagers that formed in a Brinkum (near Bremen) basement in 1975. With a primitive tape recorder, six tracks were recorded live in the studio (Summer 1975) and released as Grave I in a limited edition of 100 copies. This was plain, straight forward and simple garage rock, like the fast competent rehearsals from your neighbourhood teenage combo. I cannot understand why this has become such a hunted collector's item, and that people are prepared to pay 1,000 DEM for it! But of course, other people have different opinions.
