the Lemon Pipers ~ 1998 ~ Best of the Lemon Pipers
    genre: psych bubblegum
    country: us
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, scans)
    time: 1:14'59" size: 516 mb

    Fuzz Acid & Flowers:
This psychedelic bubblegum group from Oxford, Ohio will be best remembered for their single Green Tambourine, which topped the U.S. charts and reached No 7 in the U.K. in early 1968. Ironically, this was one of the earliest drug songs to achieve chart success. Although follow-up Rice Is Nice also made the U.S. Top 50 and No 41 in the UK, like most other bubblegum bands they were not equipped to live up to their original promise and split after further single failures. Their singles were released by Pye Int. in the UK.
Thru' With You on their first album contrasts starkly with their bubblegum repertoire - being an awesome psychedelic guitar, extended freak-out. This album was later reissued by Buddah.
Bill Bartlelt later became the leader of Ram Jam.

    Etron Fou Leloublan ~ 1991 ~ 43 Songs
    genre: avant
    country: france
quality: lossless (ape, cue, log, scans)
    size:  1 g

    Scented Gardens of Mind:
This group were one of the leading exponents of the Rock In Opposition movement in France. Their music is spontaneous, wacky, playful, insane, humourous, random, noisy and dadaistic, stretching the concepts of Beefheart's Trout Mask Replica and Henry Cow's Leg End to their outer limits. This music is certainly an acquired taste. Those who love it are surely subscribers to the mail order lists of Recommended Records (and probably their psychiatrist as well!).

    Legend ~ 1971 ~ Legend
    genre: pub
    country: uk
quality: lossless (ape, cue, log, scans)
    time: 47'06" size: 298 mb

    Tapestry of Delights:
Formed in Southend by Mickey Jupp, Legend are often regarded as the originators of the 'pub rock' sound. They were also the first English group to feature on the Bell label. Indeed, Cheque Book from their second album was later covered by premier 'pub rock' proponents Dr. Feelgood. Bill Fifield departed to T Rex prior to the Moonshine album, which was disappointing compared to the previous two. All three albums are now rare and quite sought-after and re-recorded versions from all three later emerged on The Mickey Jupp Legend album (Stiff GET 2) issued in 1978.

    David Lébon ~ 1973 ~ David Lébon
    genre: heavy
    country: argentina
quality: lossless (ape, cue, log, scans)
    time: 36'52" size: 209 mb

    The Magic Land:
This gifted musician, who can sing and play all rock instruments, has been a member of many important argentine groups: Pappo's Blues (as bass player), Color Humano (as drummer), and Pescado Rabioso (as bass player and singer), among many other collaborations.
After Pescado Rabioso's break-up he wrote an album with his wife and former groupie Liliana Lagardй (the "responsible" party for his fight with Spinetta). For this first solo album Lebуn was joined by La Pesada musicians like Alejandro Medina and Isa Portugheis as well as ex-Pescado Black Amaya on drums and Charly Garcнa (Sui Generis) on keyboards. Pappo also played on the album, and was his job to rename all the songs of the LP -with titles that sometimes have nothing to do with what the lyrics say.
This superb record -lead by great guitar work- opens with now classic "Hombre de mala sangre" and includes "Tema para Luis", where he aim his guns towards Spinetta, the furious instrumental "Envases de todos", the rock and roll -style that Lebуn likes the most- "Treinta y dos macetas" and his classic blues "Copado por el diablo".
In the following year, David formed a devotional group called Lila (El Fuego Cуsmico) featuring followers of Guru Mahara-Ji's Mission of the Divine Light, among them Carola and Carlos Cutaia (ex-Pescado Rabioso). Lila released an extremely hard to get single "Amanece la verdad" b/w "Ah, Mahara-Ji" (Carmusic CM 3061).
Afterwards, Lebуn would pick the guitar as his primary instrument. He formed classic power rock trio Polifemo, and later on Serъ Girбn with Charly Garcнa. (Serъ Girбn turned into the most popular band of all time in Argentina during the late 70s and early 80s). Lebуn also released many other solo albums of no interest for this book. Times (and music) they are a changing!
His debut LP is very rare, but has been reissued on vinyl and CD

Jack Lancaster & Robin Lumley ~ 1975 ~ Peter and the Wolf
    genre: prog, rock symphony
    country: uk
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, scans)
    time: 38'26" size: 218 mb

    Forgotten Sons:
The original, classical version of Peter And The Wolf was composed by Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev in 1936, and premiered on the 2nd May of that year. The original idea behind this creation was to combine the folk tale of Peter And The Wolf with a series of classical instruments, each interpreting a particular character in the tale. The tale is told through the eyes of a narrator who explains the story which is then interpreted by the various cast of musical instruments.
In 1975, a rock version of Peter And The Wolf was released with the majority of arrangements done by Jack Lancaster and Robin Lumley. The whole album was built around the original classical compositions by Prokofiev, though rock instruments represented the characters this time round. What one gets is actually a who's who of the jazz rock scene participating on this album which is actually more fascinating by the various combos that play on various tracks rather than the whole album itself.

Los Shakers ~ 1966 ~ Break It Al (Rompan Todo) + 1968 ~ La Conferencia Secreta Del Toto's Bar
    genre: beat
    country: uruguay
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, scans)
    time: 1:16'40" size: 557 mb

    Dreams Fantasies & Nightmares:
This was undoubtedly Uruguay's top group, though their first three albums were released in Argentina and the fourth in Brazil. Although they started off as a beat group their later albums experimented with psychedelia to some degree.
They formed in 1963 in Montevideo. In the early days they were a regular attraction at the Hot Club, a jazzy sort of venue where musicians went to play and jam.
With the emergence of The Beatles on the world scene in 1964, Los Shakers acquired Beatles hair styles and began playing beat music. They quickly relocated to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where they soon became extremely popular.
Their albums stand out in this era for their quality. Their debut album contained covers of Lesley Gore's It's My Party and Del Shannon's Keep Searchin', as well as several skillfully composed originals. Among them were Rompan Todo, their biggest hit and Qué Amor. It was their most successful album in terms of sales.

Little Eva ~ 2001 ~ The Complete Dimension Recordings: The Loco-motion!
    genre: pop
    country: us
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, scans, size: 253 mb), mp3 (320k, scans, 177 mb)
    time: 1:13'34"

    Answers.com:
Little Eva Boyd was Gerry Goffin and Carole King's babysitter and ace demo singer. Together, the three of them came up with the mega-million-seller "The Loco-motion" and its attendant album, one of the finest moments in Brill Building girl-group music history. Those 13 or so transcendent moments of glory are gathered together with 15 or so others culled from non-LP B-sides and later singles, making this the single best overview of her years at Dimension Records available. In addition to her biggest hit and her first album in its entirety, this also features her other chart hits "Let's Turkey Trot," "Keep Your Hands Off My Baby," "Old Smokey Locomotion" and her duets with Big Dee Irwin ("Swinging on a Star," "The Christmas Song," "I Wish You a Merry Christmas"). And just to perfectly bookend this collection -- which begins with "The Loco-motion" by Little Eva -- the closing track is a rare tribute track recorded and released in the early '60s: "Little Eva" by the Loco-Motions! A nice piece of rock & roll history, Brill Building style. ~ Cub Koda, Rovi

Link Wray ahd His Ray Men ~ 1963 ~ Jack The Ripper
    genre: psych surf
    country: us
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, cover)
    time: 46'05" size: 317 mb
    misc.: 1994

    Fuzz Acid & Flowers:
Born in North Carolina in 1929, Link Wray is a guitarist and singer of Shawnee origin. He lost a lung during the Korea War and began playing guitar in the fifties. With the help of his brothers Vernon (aka Ray Vernon) and Doug, he formed Link Wray and His Ray-Men in 1958 and released two successful singles, Rumbleand Rawhide. In the early sixties he was one of the very first to test the fuzztone pedal and recorded several wild instrumental tracks who would be influential on many young guitarists. Always dressd in black, he also backed Bunker Hill on the frantic The Girl Can't Dance.
He stopped recording between 1964 and 1970 and came back with an album recorded in his own studio, the Wray's Shack Three Track, build in Accokeek, Maryland. Link Wray is an interesting low-key effort which should interest fans of the Band at it sounds very sincere and rural, with mainly original material penned by Wray and Verroca plus a good cover of Willie Dixon's Tail Dragger. The next album is even better, with several acoustic tracks full of dobro and guitars combined with healthy boogie tunes (I'm So Glad) and indian influences and is really recommended. During the same period, Wray also produced the only album by Eggs Over Easy and one by Vernon Wray. Steve Verroca moved to England where he produced Brinsley Schwartz and Kevin Coyne. Also known as Bobby "The Kid" Howard with The British Walkers, Mordicai Jones released a solo album.
