cd:
This is NOT a better-known Demian group from Texas (popular for their classic, heavy rock LP on ABC Records from 1971), but completely different band which recorded their album... in Austin! This privately pressed and now very rare concept album was issued in 1974 by local Starburst label. It contains an excellent and quite eloquent rock opera, which sounds like 'The Doors meets early Bloodrock' - with trippy organ work and very fine and strong vocals similar to early David Bowie and Arthur Brown! It's very enjoyable record, with plenty of great hooks, an unusual psychedelic sounds and solid, hard rock music with a distinct, progressive tones. lt’s really hard to believe that this excellent LP was never reissued before

wiki:
Sonja Kristina's vocals on the album are atypical of her 1970s performances, both live and in the studio. By her own account, she was in a distraught emotional state following the breakup of her first marriage, and this provoked more wild and raw on-stage singing.

Crack in the Cosmic Egg:
From Basle, Switzerland, Circus were one of the key bands in Swiss prog history. Ideally situated near the French and German borders, Circus had much success in Europe, with three studio albums and a document of them in concert (featuring many guest from other top Swiss bands).
Formed in 1972, Circus took time to refine and hone their style, a complex rock with jazz and classical angles, and a rather unique instrumentation. Yes, remarkably, Circus played rock music without any electric guitars or keyboards, instead they used processed bass guitar and wind instruments. Undoubtedly, they were influenced by British progressive rock of the late-1960's/early-1970's, with references to Jethro Tull, King Crimson and (especially in the instrumentation) Van der Graaf Generator.
