Tapestry of Delights:
Formed in Birmingham in 1970 by K.K. Downing and his friend Ian Hill. The early years were a struggle with much of their time spent 'on the road' and during this period they underwent several line-up changes. Gradually they built up a steady following and, after touring Germany and Holland in 1974 (their first tour abroad), they were signed to the small Gull label. Prior to the recording of Rocka Rolla Glenn Tipton, a second guitarist, was added to flesh out their sound and make them into a five-piece. The resulting album was a disappointment to the band and their fans alike. An appearance at the Reading Festival in 1975 boosted their waning popularity and, with Moore having returned to the fold to replace Hinch, their second album was a big improvement and was greeted with good reviews. As we leave the time span of this book the band were on the verge of signing a worldwide contract with CBS which would see them go on to become one of the top heavy metal acts... but that's another story.

Wiki:
The band's third album Jumpin' the Gunne failed to rise any higher than #169 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart. This was partially attributed to a controversial cover of an overweight naked woman jumping over the band who were in a bed as she attempted to reach a baby pig. The gatefold jacket had the same woman with the album credits written on her in black marker as she cavorts with a piglet. The lack of a strong hit single doomed the second album to the bottom of the charts. Szmczyk occupied the producer's chair again for the album. Guitarist Matthew Andes left the band after the completion of the third album.

Wiki:
Aqualung is the fourth studio album. Despite the band's disapproval, is regarded as a concept album featuring a central theme of "the distinction between religion and God". The album's "dour musings on faith and religion" have marked it as "one of the most cerebral albums ever to reach millions of rock listeners". Aqualung's success marked a turning point in the band's career, who went on to become a major radio and touring act.
Recorded at Island Records' studio in London, it was their first album with John Evan as a full-time member, their first with new bassist Jeffrey Hammond and last album featuring Clive Bunker on drums. Something of a departure from the band's previous work, the album features more acoustic material than previous releases; and—inspired by photographs of homeless people on the Thames Embankment taken by singer Ian Anderson's wife Jennie—contains a number of recurring themes, addressing religion along with Anderson's own personal experiences.
Aqualung has sold more than 7 million units worldwide according to Anderson, and is thus Jethro Tull's best selling album. The album was generally well-received critically, and has been included on several music magazine best of lists. The album spawned one single, "Hymn 43".

The highly obscure psychedelic rock group from Israel began life in the late '60s as the Churchills, who produced a string of beat/psychedelic singles before relocating to England, where they changed their name to Jericho Jones and later simply Jericho. They released this sole album as Jericho Jones on A&M; it bridges the group's transition from the Churchills' fuzz psychedelic sound into the more hard rock sound they produced as Jericho. This album can be recommended to fans of exotic underground progressive and the hard rock of the '70s.
This is a solid rockin' progressive release, similar in sound to groups like Elias Hulk and Aunt Mary.

Tapestry Of Delights:
Formed in Tonbridge, Kent, by Terry Clarke and Terry Dobson, this band were originally known as The Spurlyweeves and later as The Good Thing Brigade. In November 1967 they were spotted by former Four Pennies bassist, who was working as an A&R man for Philips at the time. He got them a recording contract just ahead of EMI, who were also interested.
Their debut 45, Turquoise Tandem Cycle, was quite impressive - a slowish Procol Harum-like ballad with classical undertones, a steady beat and a sort of pipe organ throughout. With a little more power it could have been a hit, but is wasn't.
The follow-up, Juliano The Bull, a rather child-orientated pop song which isn't as good, met with the same fate. By now their record company was beginning to panic at their lack of commercial success and Roy Wood was brought in as a producer for their third 45, a cover of The Move's (Here We Go Round The) Lemon Tree (which had been the flip side to Flowers In The Rain a year earlier). Despite Wood's presence the single flopped.

Dreams Fantasies & Nightmares:
This outfit came out of Thunder Bay, Ontario, between 1970-71. Horricks and Stevenson had earlier been with the Toronto-based Plague and Horricks followed this with a spell in Lexington Avenue. Faulconer had been with the Winnipeg-based Satan and The D-Men. The second two 45s are non-LP. The album is predominantly heavy rock with psychedelic overtones. There's a definite influence of Hendrix in the music and green politics anti-business influence in the lyrics. Their style is typified by the title track which is ambitious but disjointed, taking up most of side one. The rest of that side is taken up by Mr. Business Man, another heavy rocker with some catchy high pitched guitar. The band are at their most psychedelic on Sally's Hymn and 20 Years has a haunting intro and some nice brass. It achieved minor hit status when issued as their first single.
There's also an unconfirmed report of a further album recorded prior to Oilman but not released at the time. Jarvis Street Revue also backed Tom Milestone on his album.

Gordon Jackson’s rare 1969 album can almost be called a lost Traffic LP. Produced by Dave Mason, it features the talents of Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Dave Mason and Chris Wood, alongside Jim King and Ric Grech (Family), Poli Palmer (pre-Family), Julie Driscoll, the Blossom Toes, Meic Stevens, Reg King and many others. A melodic distillation of folk, pop and psychedelia, it is a lost classic making its CD debut here, remastered from the original master tapes and featuring bonus tracks
“The album varies from the meditative and Eastern-tinged to the heavier and more psychedelic, and what could easily have been a good-natured mess is in fact surprisingly taut and complex” – Record Collector
“A mixture of psychedelic rock, jazz, folk, soul and world music with a nice introspective groove and haunting minor-key melodies” – Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
