Quicksand ~ 1974 ~ Home Is Where I Belonggenre: proto prog
    state: uk
quality: lossless (ape, cue, log, covers, 241 mb)
    time: 39 '22"

    Tapestry of Delights:
Another pair of Davies brothers, but a very different kind of approach. Hailing from Wales, Quicksand played very melodius, guitar-based progressive rock, which is better than many of the sought-after rarities in this field. Though nothing on this record may reach out for the sky, the tight playing, excellent vocals and above all else the exquisite melodies, makes this a worthwhile companion to all the £300+ discs in your collection. Nothing stands really out, but then again, nothing is less than good. Recommended. ~ (Marcel Koopman)

Queen ~ 1974 ~ Sheer Heart Attackgenre: heavy glam / prog
    state: uk
quality: lossless (ape, cue, log, covers, 250 mb)
    time: 41'21"

    wikipedia:
The third album launched Queen to mainstream popularity both in the UK and internationally: the first single, "Killer Queen" reached No. 2 in the British charts and provided them with their first top 20 hit in the US, peaking at No. 12 on the Billboard singles chart. Sheer Heart Attack was also the first Queen album to hit the US top 20, peaking at No. 12 in 1975. Digressing from the progressive themes featured on their first two albums, this album featured more conventional rock tracks and marked a step towards the classic Queen sound. In recent years, it has been listed by multiple publications as one of the band's best works.

    time: 46'48"+45'22"

    wikipedia:
Suzi Quatro is the debut solo studio album by the American rock singer-songwriter and bass guitarist Suzi Quatro.
In a contemporary review for The Village Voice, music critic Robert Christgau gave the album a "B" and wrote that "nothing in her own songwriting equals the one-riff rock of the two Chapman-Chinn singles, especially "48 Crash," and the last time I got off on someone dressed entirely in leather was before John Kay started repeating himself." In a retrospective review for AllMusic Dave Thompson gave the album four and half stars and wrote that "Suzi Quatro remains one of the most nakedly sexual albums of the entire glam rock epoch -- and one of the hottest debuts of the decade."

Quarteto 1111 ~ 1974 ~ Onde, Quando, Como, Porquê, Cantamos Pessoas Vivasgenre: prog
    state: portugal
quality: lossless (flac, cue, log, covers, 227 mb)
    time: 29'54"

    wikipedia:
Quarteto 1111 was founded in 1967 in Estoril and is one of the most influential progressive rock and psychedelic rock bands in Portugal. Originally formed by Miguel Artur da Silveira (Drums), José Cid (Vocals and Keyboard), António Moniz Pereira (Guitar) and Jorge Moniz Pereira (Bass). Latter members included Tozé Brito, Mike Seargeant and Mário Rui Terra.
It was one of the many musical groups inspired in The Shadows. Originally called the Mystery Group (Conjunto Mistério), the name later changed to 1111 Quartet (Quarteto 1111). The name was inspired by phone number of the band's rehearsal place, at the drummer's house.
José Cid was the band leader, composer, keyboard player and lead singer. The rest of the band had a classic formation influenced by the usual Beatles line-up, but with a sound and song structure that reminds the early Moody Blues.
Quarteto 1111 was the first symphonic rock band in Portugal.
Since 1968-69 they got media attention through a hit single, "El Rei D. Sebastião", actually with lyrics about the theme of the lost Portuguese king, who supposedly died in the fields of Morocco during the battle of Alcácer-Quibir (a loss that would eventually lead to Portugal losing its independence to Spain). All the myths related with the return of King Sebastian — a quite anchored Portuguese myth — were fairly treated in this song. The harpsichord made its first appearance in Portuguese rock music. A single with the English version of the song was published in Great Britain.
