Recorded in Los Angeles, this is a fair album. It's predominantly bluesy with a splattering of sound effects. The 'A' side to their first 45 was re-recorded when they signed to Vault in 1969. Their last, Only Thing That's Wrong is a non-LP country rocker.
Thought to be a Los Angeles band they were actually from Phoenix, Arizona and were known until late 1967 as the Bittersweets, releasing three locally successful and now sought-after 45s before they added Ladd (from the Laser Beats) to the line-up and changed their name. Bennett was drafted late 1967 and replaced by Randy Wells (ex-Sounds Incorporated/Solid Ground).
The Sundazed EP features three of the four Caz 45 tracks - Clean Old Man is missing for reasons unknown. Still, a welcome reissue and a chance to sample their earlier rampant fuzz-heavy-garage sounds that were somewhat diluted by the time of the album. CD is recommended. ~ (Vernon Joynson / Max Waller)

wikipedia:
Truth and Janey was an American rock band from Iowa. It took its name from Jeff Beck's Truth album and member Billy Janey's last name. The group was influenced by such power trios as Cream and The Jimi Hendrix Experience. The band toured with Leslie West and performed a music festival with Blue Öyster Cult. They were inducted into the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame in 2005.
The group formed in 1969 originally with drummer John Fillingsworth. In roughly one year he was replaced by Denis Bunce. In 1972 they released their debut, a 7-inch 45 rpm, "Midnight Horseman" along with a cover of The Rolling Stones song, "Under My Thumb." The following year they released "Straight Eight Pontiac" and "Around and Around" on their own Driving Wheel label. By 1976 they had recorded No Rest for the Wicked, which sold only 1,000 copies upon its original release.
During the later half of the 1970s they disbanded several times. Bassist Steve Bock eventually joined a group called Nowhere Fast, BillyLee would go on to release several solo albums, and Bunce left the music business completely.

Tapestry of Delights:
This late sixties folk-duo formed when Judy Dyble (ex-Fairport Convention) teamed up with Jackie McAuley (formerly of Them and Belfast Gypsies). Dyble, incidentally, also played for about a month in Giles, Giles and Fripp in 1968. Trader Horne was a short-lived venture despite Dyble's replacement by Summerfield who later worked as a solo folkie. Musically it's in the early Matthew Southern Comfort mould. Former Them flautist Ray Elliot also lends a hand. If you like folk with crystal clear female vocals this comes recommended. An excellent standard is maintained throughout - several tracks including Growning Man, In My Loneliness, the title cut, Morning Way (definitely one of the strongest), Velvet To Atone and Luke That Never Was showcase Dyble's vocal talents and many, including The Mixed Up Kind and instrumental Three Rings For Elven Kings, feature lovely flute and harpsichord work. Most of the material was penned by McAuley but Dyble wrote Morning Way itself and co-wrote Velvet To Atone with Martin Quittenton, who penned You Wear It Well and Maggie May for Rod Stewart. It also includes Elliot's good acoustic bluesy arrangement of the traditional number Down And Out Blues.

From Michigan, a rather uninspired and pompous hard rock album with the former leader of Frost and the Amboy Dukes bassist. Wagner would later work with Lou Reed and Alice Cooper as well as releasing a solo album aptly titled Richard Wagner (Atlantic 19172) 1978. Lovers of the "other" Richard Wagner must have been surprised if they bought this album!! ~ (Stephane Rebeschini)
