    Dream Fantasies & Nightmares:
Although this group originally formed in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in December 1969, they moved to Montreal in Quebec the following April. Their debut album, a pop/rock offering, was produced by Billy Hill as was their first 45, Fast Train, which became a hit. Shortly after the album's release Jimmy Henman left to be replaced by Jimmy Clench.
1972 saw the release of a second album, On The Record, which spawned a No. 1 hit, You Could Have Been A Lady, a guitar-driven hard rocker. The follow-up 45, Bad Side Of The Moon, was penned by Elton John and Bernie Taupin. The remainder of the album comprised a very presentable blend of riffy hard rockers, like Work All Day and Drop Your Guns (another hit 45 track) and melodic mainstream rock like Refuge, Flow River Flow and Didn't You. Five were penned by Myles Goodwyn, two by David Henman and one by Jimmy Clench - a promising album overall.

David and Ritchie Henman left during the recording of the Electric Jewels album with Jerry Mercer (ex-Mashmakhan) and Gary Moffet coming in as replacements.
In Spring 1974 they embarked on their first big national tour, "The Electric Adventure". They enjoyed a big hit the same year with I'm On Fire For You Baby.
After the release of Stand Back in 1975 Jimmy Clench departed for Bachman Turner Overdrive and he was later in Loverboy. Steve Lang came in as a replacement. Stand Back compiled eleven originals, eight of which were penned by Myles Goodwyn and almost all of which were riffy hard rockers. Interspersed among these axe grinders are the occasional more laid back cut like Cum Hear The Band and the melodic I Wouldn't Want To Lose Your Love, which was produced by Gene Corrish and Dino Danelli.
The band has continued beyond the time span of this book until the present making it one of the most durable Canadian bands.
Gary Moffat's other bands were Pops Merrily and Happy Feeling.
